GGS Design by Ghazal Ghahri-Saremi

My fascination with jewellery was sparked at an early age by trips to visit family in Iran. I remember being mesmerised by the opulence of the jewellery worn by my Grandmother. I loved the fact that for her jewellery was not the preserve of parties or nights out but simply formed a part of my Grandmothers early morning routine even if there was nothing more glamorous than a trip to the bakers!
I would spend hours looking through her jewellery (under close supervision!) and loved the stones with their kaleidoscope of colours. As a result colour forms a major part of my jewellery.
A self taught jeweller, my career started a decade ago whilst living in California working mainly on commissioned one-off pieces. On my return home to the UK I continued to produce individual pieces on request whilst working full time.
With an established group of clients, I now work full time as a jeweller producing several ranges of contemporary designs for galleries across the country.
I work with predominantly silver and semi precious stones and often use prayer beads sourced from Iran.
My jewellery has recently been commissioned for television.
